sbo333 Germany's 2018 has gone from bad to worse as Holland's 2-0 victory over France has seen them relegated from the top tier of the UEFA Nations League. The Netherlands were excellent against the world champions and perhaps deserved to win by an even larger scoreline, but will be content with the goals from Georginio Wijnaldum and Memphis Depay. Despite dominating the first half, it actually took until the 44th minute for the Dutch to go ahead, which they did when Wijnaldum turned in a rebound after Ryan Babel had forced one of nine saves from the fantastic Hugo Lloris. It was only because of Lloris' heroics that France stayed in the game for so long. sbo333 The captain saved excellently from Denzel Dumfries, Depay and Frenkie de Jong in the second half to give Les Bleus hope, but they were toothless in attack and finished the match with just two shots on target. Holland, on the other hand, had 11 shots on target, the last of which was a Panenka penalty from Depay in the final minute of stoppage time, after Moussa Sissoko fouled De Jong.
The result means Germany have been relegated from the elite tier in the UEFA Nations League, but France now need Die Mannschaft to defeat the Dutch on Monday.Anything other than a German win would see Holland progress to the UEFA Nations League Final Four. sbo333
